Turkish Resort Hotel Opens
A new, luxurious resort hotel just opened in Antalya, Turkey with a spectacular party. The Mardan Palace Hotel recently celebrated its grand opening with 600 special guests including a number of well-known stars and performers. On hand to welcome the new five-star hotel were Monica Belucci, Paris Hilton, Richard Gere, Sharon Stone, Seal, Mariah Carey, Tom Jones and Russian star Philip Kirkorov, among many others.
The 560-room hotel was designed to represent Turkish heritage and reflects many of the country’s distinctive landmarks. The main hotel looks like the Dolmabahce Palace, while the bridges across the vast pool is based on the Da Vinci Bridge. The hotel has the largest swimming pool along the Mediterranean coast at 24,000 square meters, and a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course is scheduled to open later in the year. There is also a spa, 17 bars and 10 restaurants to suit and taste or style.
The Mardan Palace Hotel was constructed by Russian businessman Telman Ismailov and cost some US$1.4 billion. It is located just outside the Mediterranean resort town of Antalya with the Taurus Mountains rising up in the background. The hotel is just 10 kilometers from the Antalya International Airport (AYT) and 15 kilometers from the city center.
