Travel From UK To Turkey Now Easier

More flights to Turkey are planned for 2010 making Turkey ebven more accesbileb for Turkish property investors and those seeking a second home in Turkey. An impressive expanded schedule of 17 flights from the UK to Turkey wuill come into place by Turkish low cost carrier Pegasus Airlines. Services planned for next year including London to Istanbul, Bodrum, Dalaman; Manchester to Antalya and Dalaman and Birmingham to Antalya and Bodrum. 

 

Bucking the tend the carrier has more than doubled passengers from the UK from 100,154 in 2008 to 213,136 in the first 10 months of this year.

 

Chairman Ali Sabanci said that 23 new generation Boeing 737-800s will join the fleet by 2012, making it the largest aircraft order in the region at $2.3 billion. The airline is also negotiating to increase the order. 

 

“In the first nine months of 2009 alone, Pegasus Airlines grew by an impressive 46% on international routes and 41% on domestic routes,” Sabanci said. 

 

Daniel Dias of Turkish developer Signature International, comments,

“This deluge of 17 new direct flights per week from the UK to Turkey, including two services to Bodrum from Manchester and London, is most welcome but not unexpected. A weak pound has played into Pegasus’s hands with many looking outside the eurozone for their holidays, and indeed holiday homes. Turkey has exploded as a destination of choice over recent years and it makes good commercial sense for the airlines to capitalize on the boom. Overseas property buyers will also see value added to their investment. We expect EasyJet to emulate Pegasus’ enthusiasm for Bodrum by extending their current May-October route from Gatwick to a year-round service.”
