New flights to Antalya, Turkey.
British Airways announced a new route addition to their schedule. They have begun operating flights from London Gatwick direct to Antalya International Airport (AYT) along the Mediterranean coast of Turkey. Currently, these flights operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays and are scheduled to run in both the summer and winter. These new flights will help travelers, holiday goers and those with overseas property get to the destination much faster.
Antalya, International Airport, is a new and modern airport constructed in recent years to handle the increasing holiday traffic for Turkey’s Mediterranean coast. In 2007 the airport handled nearly 18 million passengers. There are two international terminals to handle flights from all over Europe and the world. The airport is 10 km east of the city and there are regular shuttle buses as well as taxi service to downtown.
The city of Antalya is located along the Turkish Mediterranean coast and is the largest city. In this part of the country. It is also the most popular destination for tourists, making it an ideal location for international property investors. The beaches here spread out for kilometers in either direction, and the Taurus mountains rise dramatically in the background. Additionally, there are hundreds of ancient ruins and cultural sites for visitors to see and many national parks to explore. With all that this area has going for it is no wonder that international carriers are increasing flights to Antalya.
